This one started out as my entry for OOC, but it quickly turned into crack.
Harry looked up from his Auror reports as a bouquet of red roses was presented to his face. Attached to the other end of the flowers was Severus, a winning smile plastered across his face.
Harry groaned and ran a hand through his hair; this was starting to get disturbing.
“Harry, my love, I missed you, so I thought I would just pop in to see you.”
“Severus, weren’t you in the middle of brewing some Wolfsbane this afternoon?”
“Yeah but I would rather see you. How could I focus on potions when I was missing you so much?” Severus turned and busied himself transfiguring a quill into a vase for the flowers.
Harry stepped out from behind his desk and slowly removed his wand and cast a Petrificus Totalus on Severus. Once Severus was secured, Harry proceeded to cast a number of revealing and diagnosis spells.
Surely this man before him was an impostor; Severus had been acting ridiculously out of character for the past week. Harry brushed it aside at first, assuming that Severus was just trying to make up for the row they had a while ago.
To have Severus abandon a potion to spend time with Harry, and to bring him flowers, roses no less, was a sure sign of an impostor or that Severus was bewitched.
When none of his spells revealed anything but his Severus, Harry became frightened. He loved Severus because he was a prickly, cut to the quick, bastard. This fawning, romantic, nice Severus was just wrong.
Confused, Harry could think of nothing that would suddenly change Severus so drastically, so he released Severus from the Totalus. Severus shook himself then launched himself into Harry’s arms and proceeded to cry.
It was in that moment when Hermione burst into Harry’s office. She came up short seeing Snape clutching to Harry and sobbing into his robes. Harry looked up at her, his eyes begging for help.
“I don’t know what’s happened to him Hermione. I cast all the revealing spells and he is truly Severus but he’s not under Imperious.” Hermione stepped into the office fully and closed the door behind her.
“Harry I think I know what is wrong with Snape. After you told me how odd he was acting I checked the Ministry archive for other cases like this. It turns out that Severus has been infected.” Harry flinched at the idea that Severus was ill and stroked Severus’ hair and the man sobbed harder,
“Hermione what’s wrong with him? Will he be ok?” Hermione kneeled down next to Harry and Severus and held up a vial with a blue potion in it.
“This infection seems to happen to celebrities from time to time, but this potion will cure him.”
“What does he have Hermione?”
“It’s called a Figmentus Fluctuatum Net.” Harry started blankly at Hermione and she rolled her eyes.
“Harry, Severus has been struck by, in layman’s terms, a FF.Net.” Harry gasped in horror and hugged Severus closer. “But don’t worry Harry, this potion will return Snape to his normal self.”
Harry almost tripped over himself to grab the potion and saw that Severus drank it all down.
After a few moments Harry felt Severus stiffen in his arms.
“What in blazes is going on Potter? Why am I in your office, on the floor when I should be at home brewing Wolfsbane? And why are you clutching me to you like we’re in some Shakespearian tragedy? Remove yourself from me this instant and have some decorum.”
Harry heaved a sigh of relief; his Severus was back to normal.
